Fun find... you way with a map!

Perusing my bookmarked sites in the lovely browser today looking for something I thought I lost, and I ran across something I never realized I had saved. It's the COOLEST thing for any wedding that may have a large amount of Out of Town guests, or a destination wedding. It takes Google Maps (I think) and lets you add icons for people to visually identify and gives directions between destinations for your wedding.

And then, you can allow people to view your map so that they can view and print information and directions for the events of your wedding! Check it out here: Wedding Mapper

So fun! Make a map and try it out before you even register! Go on! It's fun! Pick any place you want! Have fun!

Entertaining?

Idea!
I visited an urban spa a few years ago that set the bar for me as far as spas go. A small spa that was part of a chain, this relaxing city-spa resides a couple floors above the bustling streets of Santa Monica, CA. The experience was so relaxing, I often still reflect on the time I spent there. One of the things they had were infused waters. Citrus and cucumber waters in these beautiful dispensers. I always thought these waters added to the experience and were very calming and delicious! I decided that I think I want to incorporate these into my wedding. Since we are having a DW near the beach in an incredibly relaxing city, I find relaxing infused waters to be very appropriate! So I am throwing a baby shower in the coming weeks and I decided NOW is the time to try them out.

It's fun knowing a photographer!

So, about a year ago, I met this lovely girl. She was looking for a make-up artist (me) to assist in projects to expand her well-established portfolio, specifically in the Arizona market for Wedding Photography. Of course, she does more than weddings, so we've done a few projects together. I quickly came to admire her talent, and I have found other people accross the web who are impressed with her talent and style as well. Not only is she an amazing photographer, but now she is a new mommy!

Her new daughter is just soooo adorable, and I am so happy for baby and mommy. This little angel is perfect and sweet, definitely a gift in a pretty little package.
And she has recently posted her daughter's FIRST photo shoot on her photography blog! Want to see what cute and talented look like together? Visit the blog: Shelly Love Photography

Congratulations Michelle & Penelope Rose! And Happy Birthday!

Moving right along....

Update!

The bridesmaid dress is chosen, and the contract has finally been sent for the reception venue. Now it's just about trying to secure the ceremony site and start putting money away for the food, entertainment, and more. And sadly, I have completely slowed my wedding planning. I need to get the save the dates out... providing I can get them printed in the next week or two. Then there's another $60 dropped on postage. But everything will be all the better for it.

I've been slowly perusing the net for more inspiration but I'm already feeling like I've got so much inspiration in front of me that I'm fearful that I might overwhelm myself if I "inspire" myself much more.

I went to a BBQ on Labor Day and met a guy that Chuck works with and his lovely fiance. I was previously told by way of Chuck that they are getting married in the Dominican Republic and that we have been invited to their all-inclusive wedding. While talking to the fiance, I began to kind of share a few wedding ideas that I thought might be slightly applicable to them. She seems really focused on having a no-fuss wedding, and my tips may not have been that helpful for her. I guess I figured with the both of us having a destination wedding (DW) she might be interested in sharing info. But, alas, it seems they are doing the destination wedding the right way. No fuss, just a stylish wedding/vacation that suits their style. It is an all-inclusive resort and from what I understand, that includes air fare! It's a good deal. So all you have to do is show up! Great plan! Would be a wonderful idea for us too if we weren't getting married in San Diego and having our reception at a 4-star resort. Although, I feel that our wedding will absolutely have our style written all over it, I feel our wedding will be a memorable event even though its not an all inclusive vacation.

But I am sure that their wedding is going to absolutely reflect their style. They had a big wedding planned but after life getting in the way of their original plan, they feel like "why force a big wedding and feel like it might end up being too be stuffy and rigid?" And I think that will show through their wedding event for them. I am confident their wedding is going to be exquisitely beautiful!

So, I've been thinking about this... That is exactly what I've been wanting all this time! How to best express our style in our wedding without being too rigid and inflexible? How to make It look nearly effortless and sans-fuss. How to look like the whole thing was fun from proposal to I Do!!!

Which I think is all the more reason for me to look for more inspiration. So, I'm off to find my inspiration in style. I think the fire of getting married has been reignited. So exciting!!! :o)
